I love you dad!

My heart hurts. My amazing dad passed away on September 20th. My mom, my sisters and I surrounded my dads bedside when it came time for God to call him to heaven. It feels like its been three weeks...but only two days have passed. We witnessed beauty in action in its toughest form that day. We were able to hold his hand, talk to him....see his breath and heartbeat. His last words to us were "I love you too." My heart hurts, my mind is confused, I don't know what to do with this. A few times I've thought that I need to call my dad to ask a question on how to fix something and then a very dark, deeply cutting feeling digs itself into my soul.

I know my dad loved Christ. I know that I will see him again. We'll worship together one day soon.

I miss you papa. I miss you daddy. You were always solidly there...ever present...never wavering...always there for whatever we needed. God chose you for me before the earth began...and he designed each and every breath you took with care. The tears sting....but I am so thankful for each moment I was able to experience with you.

Philippians 3:20-21 (New Living Translation) - But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

Psalm 116:15 (Amplified) - Precious (important and no light matter) in the sight of the Lord is the death of His loved ones.

My father's memorial service will be held on Friday, September 24th at Faith Christian Reformed Church - 1600 Silver Lake Road, New Brighton, MN. Service times - 10am Visitation, 11am Service.
